FOX SPORTS 1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT: EDGAR VS. FABER Delivers Ultimate Wake Up Call on Saturday, 5/16

Set your alarms for exciting Ultimate Fighting Championship® action on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Deportes on Saturday, May 16 as the network presents FOX SPORTS 1 UFC® FIGHT NIGHT: EDGAR VS. FABER headlined by No. 2-ranked featherweight Frankie Edgar (17-4-1) facing No. 3-ranked bantamweight Urijah Faber (32-7). This highly anticipated bout caps off seven hours of exciting live coverage that begins on FOX Sports 1 at 7:00 AM ET with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW, with PRELIMS starting at 8:00 AM ET and the main card at 10:00 AM ET on FOX SPORTS 1 and FOX Deportes providing the ultimate UFC wake up call.

FOX SPORTS 1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT takes place in Manila, Philippines, and features the five-round main event between Edgar and Faber. Former lightweight champ Edgar looks to extend his three-fight win streak and earn another shot at the featherweight title, while fan-favorite Faber returns to featherweight to face one of the best in the UFC.

FOX UFC analyst Dominick Cruz believes the headliner between Edgar and Faber is a dream matchup for the fans: “Edgar is a monster. He mixes together long combinations and he finishes his combinations with kicks. He’s strong for the takedowns. Then you have Faber who is very fast from the outside and very underrated in grappling. These are both guys who go for the finish. This isn’t going to be a boring fight. This is for the fans. The UFC isn’t calling this a super fight, but this is easily a super fight.”

In addition to the Edgar vs. Faber headliner, the three-hour main card features five more thrilling matchups, including a key clash between No. 7-ranked middleweight Gegard Mousasi (36-5-2) and No. 12 Costas Philippou (13-4, 1NC). Mark Munoz (13-6), the Filipino Wrecking Machine, fulfills his dream of fighting in his homeland and has announced his retirement after his middleweight bout with Luke Barnatt (8-2). Welterweights Hyun Gyu Lim (13-4-1) and No. 15 Neil Magny (14-4) battle, while featherweights Phillipe Nover (6-3-1) and Yui Chul Nam (18-4-1) tangle. Mark Eddiva (6-1) and Levan Makashvili (9-1) kick off the main card with a featherweight bout. Jon Anik (@Jon_Anik) and Brian Stann (@BrianStann) call the fights live from Manila on FOX Sports 1, while Víctor Dávila and Érik "Goyito" Pérez make the call in Spanish on FOX Deportes.

The two-hour FOX SPORTS 1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS feature four bouts, including Tae Hyun Bang (17-8) and Jon Tuck (8-2) in a lightweight bout. Lightweights Zhang Lipeng (9-8-1) and Kajan Johnson (19-12-1) square off. Li Jingliang (9-3) and Dhiego Lima (11-3) face each other in a welterweight scrap, while Ning Guangyou (5-2-1) and Royston Wee (4-0) get the prelims started with a bantamweight showdown.

Saturday’s action begins on FOX Sports 1 at 7:00 AM ET with the FOX SPORTS 1 UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW hosted by veteran combat sports journalist Karyn Bryant (@KarynBryant), with analysts Kenny Florian (@KennyFlorian), former light heavyweight champion Rashad Evans (@SugaRashadEvans) and bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw (@TJDillashaw). Heidi Androl (@HeidiAndrol) interviews fighters on-site in Manila. Coverage wraps up at 1:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 2 with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT POSTFIGHT SHOW, as the same crew recaps the fights.

The FOX SPORTS 1 UFC WEIGH-IN SHOW takes place on Friday, May 15 (7:00 AM ET) on FOX Sports 1 and features Bryant alongside Florian, Evans and Dillashaw on the desk.

Headliner Faber hosts a new comedic animated series called FIGHT STORIES premiering on FOX Sports 1, Tuesday, May 12 (10:30 PM ET). In the show he interviews comedian Josh Wolf, actor Skylar Astin, Mario Lopez and other celebrities about their most memorable, heroic and entertaining fights.
