FOX Sports Announces CONCACAF Champions League Schedule
FOX Sports’ record-breaking Summer of Soccer continues with five MLS squads and 19 others from North and Central America and the Caribbean beginning their battle in the CONCACAF Champions League, the region’s annual club competition.
The 2015-16 CONCACAF Champions League coverage kicks off this week on FOX Sports outlets. In all, 16 CONCACAF Champions League games are televised live across FOX Sports 1, FOX Sports 2 and FOX Soccer Plus from August to October.
The action commences Tuesday, Aug. 4 as Real Salt Lake takes on Municipal in Guatemala on FOX Soccer Plus (10:00 PM ET). Northwest rivals go head-to-head on Wednesday, Aug. 5 when Clint Dempsey’s Seattle Sounders clash with the Vancouver Whitecaps on FOX Sports 1 (10:00 PM ET), and Match Day 1 wraps up on Thursday, Aug. 6 (10:00 PM ET) as reigning MLS Cup winners LA Galaxy face off against Central FC of Trinidad and Tobago on FOX Sports 2.
Play-by-play veteran JP Dellacamera calls all CONCACAF Champions League Match Day 1 fixtures and is joined by former MLS defender Brian Dunseth. FOX Sports newcomer Ian Joy makes his debut hosting in-studio alongside analyst Cobi Jones prior to the highly anticipated Whitecaps-Sounders matchup on FOX Sports 1.
