World Cup Heroes Carli Lloyd and Hope Solo Return to NWSL Action on FOX Sports 1
The U.S. Women’s National Team kicked off its FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP 2015™ Victory Tour with two big wins over Costa Rica in front of record attendances in Pittsburgh and Chattanooga, Tenn., and now its stars return to action with their NWSL professional clubs on FOX Sports 1.
All five World Cup-winning players from the Houston Dash and Seattle Reign FC are expected to travel to Houston’s BBVA Stadium for the clash on Friday, Aug. 21, as World Cup hero Carli Lloyd leads Houston against Seattle, led by Megan Rapinoe and Hope Solo at 8:00 PM ET on FOX Sports 1. Seattle has already clinched a spot in the 2015 NWSL Playoffs, while Houston, which also features USWNT stars Morgan Brian and Meghan Klingenberg, sits in sixth place, just three points back of the fourth and final spot. In the final regular-season match on FOX Sports 1’s NWSL schedule next Sunday, Aug. 30 (9:30 PM ET), Tobin Heath and the Portland Thorns host Ali Krieger and the Washington Spirit at Providence Park.
