NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES MARKS 500TH SERIES RACE SATURDAY AT NEW HAMPSHIRE MOTOR SPEEDWAY ON FS1
The NASCAR CAMPING WORLD TRUCK SERIES marks its 500th series race Saturday, Sept. 26 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, live at 1:00 PM ET on FS1 and FOX Sports GO. To celebrate the milestone race, NCWTS SETUP, FS1’s pre-race show airing at 12:30 PM ET, welcomes four former Truck Series champions to the show. John Roberts hosts two-time Truck Series champion and FS1 analyst Todd Bodine, four-time champ Ron Hornaday Jr., inaugural series champion Mike Skinner and three-time champ Jack Sprague. Two-time and defending series champion Matt Crafton joins via satellite from Loudon. Vince Welch calls the action alongside analysts Phil Parsons and Michael Waltrip with pit reporting by Hermie Sadler and Kaitlyn Vincie.
FS1 celebrates the 500th race throughout the weekend, offering features on the inaugural contest (1995), 100th, 200th, 300th and 400th series races, in addition to a look back at John Hunter Nemechek’s first career win last week at Chicagoland Speedwa,y during the network’s live coverage of practice and qualifying sessions Friday and Saturday. During NCWTS SETUP on Saturday, FS1 also offers a live interview with Crafton; a flashback to Cole Custer’s first career win last year at New Hampshire; and a lighthearted word association game with drivers regarding Loudon.
“BEYOND THE WHEEL” SHORT-FILM SERIES PREMIERES WEDNESDAY ON NASCAR RACE HUB; FIRST EPISODE FOCUSES ON DAVEY ALLISON’S SON
On Wednesday, Sept. 23, the first of four documentaries in a short-film series titled “Beyond the Wheel” airs during NASCAR RACE HUB on FS1, offering an inside look at the sport’s most interesting stories and traditions. Chasing Davey, produced by NASCAR Productions, follows Robbie Allison, son of former NASCAR star Davey Allison, as he seeks a connection with his late father by participating in the sport Davey loved. Featured in the documentary are interviews with Robbie Allison, Liz Allison (Robbie’s mother and Davey’s wife), Bobby Allison (Davey’s father/Robbie’s grandfather), Judy Allison (Davey’s mother/Robbie’s grandmother), Lorin Ranier (family friend and mentor) and Chuck Hughes (family friend). The special also includes two Allison family home movie clips. Three subsequent “Beyond the Wheel” films air on NASCAR RACE HUB on Wednesday, Sept. 30, Oct. 7 and Oct. 21 on FS1 at 6:00 PM ET.
