Also included in Saturday’s pre-race show are a look back at John Wes Townley’s win three weeks; a feature on Johnny Sauter changing teams for the 2016 season; and a lighthearted word association game with drivers regarding Talladega.
NASCAR RACE HUB WRAPS SHORT-FILM SERIES “BEYOND THE WHEEL” THURSDAY ON FS1 WITH WHITE KNIGHT, A DOCUMENTARY CHRONICLING THE LIFE AND CAREER OF DICK TRICKLE
On Thursday, Oct. 22 at 6:00 PM ET, FS1’s NASCAR RACE HUB premieres White Knight, a short film focusing on former NASCAR driver Dick Trickle, considered by many to be the winningest race car driver in history. Trickle, who won approximately 1,200 races, dominated short tracks across the country and was a highly likeable and unique character who took Rookie of the Year honors at age 48. A friend and mentor to countless other drivers, Trickle was devoted to his fans and proved himself tenacious and talented behind the wheel. In a tragic turn of events, Trickle took his life in 2013. Through archival footage and original interviews with his friends and competitors, White Knight cuts to the heart of who Trickle was as a human being — his triumphs, pain, and spirit. Interviewees include Kenny Wallace, Rusty Wallace, Michael Miller, Jimmy Fennig, Father Dale Grubba and Russ Ebert. White Knight is the final of four episodes in a short-film series under the “Beyond the Wheel” banner airing on NASCAR RACE HUB and produced by NASCAR Productions.
