Bayern Munich Takes on Chicharito’s Bayer Leverkusen as Bundesliga Coverage Continues on FOX
FOX broadcasts its second of eight live Bundesliga matches this season on Saturday, Feb. 6, as league leaders Bayern Munich face a top-five club in Bayer Leverkusen featuring Mexican National Team superstar Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. Pregame coverage kicks off at 12:00 PM ET, followed by match coverage at 12:30 PM ET.
The Bundesliga, Germany’s top professional soccer league, is benefitting from the increased exposure on multiple FOX Sports platforms, and is fast becoming essential viewing for American soccer fans. Saturday’s match between Hamburg and Stuttgart on FOX, the league’s first-ever carried live on broadcast television in this country, delivered 468,000 viewers, making it the most-watched live Bundesliga game ever in the U.S.
Bundesliga veterans in their playing days, host Ian Joy, analysts Eric Wynalda, Jovan Kirovski plus former German star midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger, who won a Bundesliga title in 2007, provide pregame, halftime and postgame commentary. FOX Sports’ play-by-play announcer John Strong and analyst Stu Holden call the action. The match is also available in Spanish on FOX Deportes with John Laguna and former Mexican National Team defender Mariano Trujillo in the booth.
