McIntyre Joins SPEAK FOR YOURSELF with Cowherd and Whitlock on FS1

And then there were three. Jason McIntyre, the editor-in-chief of “The Big Lead,” a sports media blog owned by USA Today, and host on FOX Sports Radio, joins Colin Cowherd and Jason Whitlock on FS1’s new discussion and opinion-based studio program SPEAK FOR YOURSELF, which premieres Monday, June 13, and airs weeknights from 6:00 to 7:00 PM ET on FS1. McIntyre joins the show as a contributor alongside Cowherd and Whitlock, two media personalities with whom he’s had relationships for many years. McIntyre’s addition was announced today by Charlie Dixon, Executive Vice President of Content for FS1 and FS2.

“While Cowherd and Whitlock take the lead with their strong opinions on SPEAK FOR YOURSELF, McIntyre steps in to help usher the debate between the two on the show,” Dixon says. “He brings with him a unique understanding of the conversations sports fans want to have on social platforms and this will help add perspective and attitude to the show’s topics."

“I’m excited about this opportunity to work with these two well respected and opinionated journalists who I’ve known for some time now,” says McIntyre. “Whitlock was one of my first and biggest interviews when I started ‘The Big Lead,’ and I’ve followed his impressive writing and television career from afar. It’s also an honor to work with Colin, the top sports radio host in the country. I look forward to seeing what we can do together with this new show.”

Cowherd and Whitlock lead off SPEAK FOR YOURSELF each day covering the biggest news and headlines with their uniquely differing viewpoints. They are then joined by McIntyre for several segments on the one-hour show, looking at the day’s most provocative stories from different angles. Other features include one-on-one interviews in which Whitlock discusses and debates a range of topics with a guest athlete or newsmaker, and a “Good Bet/Bad Bet” feature where Cowherd and Whitlock to address daily stories with a gambling twist.

He founded “The Big Lead" in 2006 and sold the blog in 2010 before it was acquired by USA Today in 2012. He spent a his early career as a sportswriter for The Record in New Jersey’s Bergen County, then as a magazine reporter for Us Weekly, also freelancing for many outlets including Maxim, ESPN The Magazine, ESPN.com and CBSSports.com. He graduated from James Madison University in 2000 with a concentration in journalism.
