New York – Week 6’s AMERICA’S GAME OF THE WEEK on FOX, a highly anticipated matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Green Bay Packers, is the highest-rated and most-watched game of the 2016 NFL season, delivering FOX Sports an impressive 28 million viewers on average with a huge 15.8/30 household rating/share, according to national figures released by Nielsen Media Research.
AGOTW, FOX’s late afternoon window during NFL doubleheader Sundays, America’s highest-rated and most-watched television show for seven consecutive years, continues to dominate the television landscape in 2016. Through three telecasts, AGOTW is averaging a 14.7/29 with 26.0 million viewers. While that is off just a touch from last year’s 15.2/30 (26.5 million viewers) on FOX, it still easily ranks as the highest-rated and most-watched program in all of television this year.
FOX NFL SUNDAY, FOX Sports’ signature NFL pregame show airing at 12:00 PM ET, further extended its supremacy, averaging a 3.0/8 and 4.6 million viewers for the Week 6 installment. Season-to-date, FOX NFL SUNDAY is maintaining a healthy +24% lead over its direct competition, CBS’s NFL Today (vs. 2.5/7 – 3.8 million viewers). FOX NFL KICKOFF, airing Sunday’s at 11:00 AM ET on FOX, is up +19% on viewership (1,193,000 vs. 1,005,000) and +14% on rating (0.8 vs. 0.7) compared to last year.
