FOX Sports Presents 14-Match FA Cup and Bundesliga Lineup this Weekend
Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen Highlight Action
LOS ANGELES, CA – As American football takes the weekend off before Super Bowl LI on FOX, European football dominates the television screen this weekend with 14 matches from FA Cup fourth-round play and Bundesliga on the FOX Sports family of networks. Coverage begins Friday, Jan. 27, featuring top-level clubs such as Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.
Friday’s lineup features Derby County hosting Leicester City at 2:30 PM on FS1, while Schalke squares off against Eintracht Frankfurt in Bundesliga action on FS2 and FOX Deportes. Kate Abdo, who made her full-time FOX Sports debut last week, hosts FA Cup studio coverage alongside analysts Brad Friedel and Warren Barton. On FS2, Keith Costigan and Ian Joy call Schalke-Eintracht Frankfurt, while John Laguna and Mariano Trujillo are on the call in Spanish.
On Saturday, Jan. 28, Liverpool hosts Wolverhampton at 7:25 AM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Immediately following, Chelsea faces Brentford on FS1 and FOX Deportes, while Tottenham battles Wycombe on FOX Soccer Plus. Southampton closes out FA Cup play at home against Arsenal beginning at 12:00 PM ET on FS1. Abdo hosts FA Cup studio coverage alongside Barton, Friedel and Alexi Lalas. On FOX Deportes, Samuel Jacobo, Christian Bozzo, Claudio Suarez and Ariel Torrone are on the call in Spanish.
Saturday’s Bundesliga coverage begins at 9:20 AM ET on FS2 when Bayern Munich, which is enjoying a six-game winning streak, visits Werder Bremen at Weser Stadium. Later that day, Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez’s Bayer Leverkusen hosts Borussia Monchengladbach at 12:20 PM on FS2 and FOX Deportes. Costigan and Eric Wynalda call the Bayern Munich-Werder Bremen fixture, while Joy hosts studio coverage for Bayer Leverkusen-Borussia Monchengladbach. Trujillo and Laguna call the match for FOX Deportes.
Coverage continues Sunday, Jan. 29, at 6:55 AM ET with Millwall facing Watford on FS1. Immediately following, Sutton United hosts Leeds United on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United takes on Wigan at 11:00 AM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Abdo hosts FA studio coverage alongside Barton and Stu Holden. Freiburg-Hertha Berlin and Mainz-Borussia Dortmund headline the action on FOX Soccer Plus at 9:20 AM ET and 11:30 AM ET respectively.
