Top Quotes:
Colin Cowherd on Atlanta’s slogan ‘Rise Up:’
“’My team refuses to lose.’ What does that mean? It’s a T-shirt logo. Here’s the way it works. You have one of these great franchises – the Yankees, the Spurs, the Patriots. Then they face an upstart in the championships – the Panthers, the Colorado Rockies. And the team that’s new to this always has a slogan. Atlanta can be ‘Rise Up,” and New England will be ‘Sit Down.’”
Rashad Jennings on Miami Boat trip:
“Odell Beckham Jr. is a talent a lot of people have not seen, period. We play football together. We perform together. We’re embedded in this. We fight with each other every single day, so the culture is, we protect each other. We all make mistakes. At the end of the day, we grow with each other. We don’t need to be like Odell. He’s special. Let him be him. I need to be me and bring it to the field. You could say it was a distraction because it came from the public. Distraction in the locker room? Absolutely not. Everybody showed up on time. Everybody was catching the ball in practice. Preparation was on point. Everybody does different things on their off days. Now did it come from the outside? Of course. But not on the inside, at all.”
Jay Glazer on John Lynch getting hired as 49ers GM:
“It’s been in the works for a little while. He met with them, and they had to do some convincing for him to take this job. John Lynch is not a drama guy. And that place is all drama. He was giving them advice and trying to help them out, and they asked if he’d be interested in the job. And he said that he would talk to them about it. The 49ers have gone through all this drama in the last few years, and they said they have to do something different. I think he realizes he doesn’t have the answers, but he does have this thing where he has no politics, he has an attitude. He’s outworked the world. He’s a different kind of cat. He’s going to bring in personnel guys and people who are experienced at those jobs. The reason this was done yesterday is so people know those jobs will be available. He knows he needs to hire some of those people. You want his attitude and you want that franchise to take on that personality.”
