LOS ANGELES, CA – FOX Sports presents CONCACAF Gold Cup semifinals coverage Saturday, July 22 and Sunday, July 23 as regional foes USA, Mexico, Costa Rica and Jamaica look to clinch a spot in the final.
The Americans continue their Gold Cup campaign Saturday, kicking off the tournament’s semifinals coverage against Costa Rica, beginning at 10:00 PM ET on FS1. Rob Stone anchors studio coverage alongside former U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Alexi Lalas, two-time U.S. WNT Olympic Gold Medalist Aly Wagner, former U.S. MNT and MLS star Eric Wynalda and Emmy-Award winning broadcaster Fernando Fiore with Dr. Joe Machnik weighing in as rules analyst. Highly respected announcer John Strong is on the call alongside former U.S. international Stu Holden and U.S. MNT all-time leading goal scorer, Landon Donovan, live from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with Jenny Taft reporting from the sidelines.
The U.S. MNT shut out El Salvador 2-0 to clinch its spot in the semifinals, while Costa Rica defeated Panama 1-0 in the quarterfinals. The United States is 6-0-1 against Costa Rica in CONCACAF Gold Cup competition.
Sunday’s semifinal is a rematch of the 2015 Gold Cup championship, as reigning champion Mexico squares off against Jamaica at 9:00 PM ET on FS1. Stone hosts pregame coverage alongside Lalas, Fiore and former Mexican National Team midfielder Mariano Trujillo. Renowned American soccer broadcaster JP Dellacamera calls the match alongside former U.S. MNT goalkeeper Brad Friedel with special reports from Francisco X. Rivera live from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, Calif.
Mexico defeated Honduras 1-0 to advance to its sixth straight Gold Cup semifinal, while Philadelphia Union’s Andre Blake led the Reggae Boyz to a 2-1 victory against Canada to earn a spot in the semifinals for the fourth time in Jamaica’s history.
