MLS Postseason Implications on the Line Sunday on FS1 and FOX Deportes
Rivalry Week Doubleheader Features Cali Clásico and Cascadia Rivals Seattle Sounders-Portland Timbers
LOS ANGELES, CA – FOX Sports is home to a thrilling MLS Heineken Rivalry Week doubleheader on Sunday, Aug. 27, beginning at 7:00 PM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes. The Cali Clásico kicks off Sunday’s lineup when the LA Galaxy host the San Jose Earthquakes at StubHub Center in Los Angeles, followed by the top Western Conference seed Seattle Sounders FC battling Cascadia rival Portland Timbers at CenturyLink Field in Seattle.
Rob Stone hosts studio coverage live from a field-level set at Stubhub Center in Los Angeles alongside former MLS legend Alexi Lalas. Once the action begins on the field, JP Dellacamera calls the Galaxy vs. Earthquakes match alongside former Houston Dynamo midfielder Stu Holden with Danielle Slaton reporting from the sideline. Immediately following, the Western Conference leading Seattle Sounders square off against No. 4 seed Portland Timbers at 9:30 PM ET on FS1 and FOX Deportes. Lead play-by-play announcer John Strong calls the match alongside former Columbus Crew star Brad Friedel, with Katie Witham reporting from the sideline.
In Spanish, Ernesto Amador and Martin Zuñiga call the Galaxy-Earthquakes matchup, with Elmur Souza reporting from the sideline. Mariano Trujillo and Troy Santiago are on the call for Sounders-Timbers on FOX Deportes.
With the San Jose Earthquakes sitting in seventh place, Sunday’s Cali Clásico carries added weight as the two-time MLS Cup winners look to climb into the top six in the Western Conference standings in time for the postseason and clinch a playoff berth.
