PHENOMS Follows Rising Stars of the Sport and Debuts This Spring on FOX, Leading Up to the FIFA World Cup™
LOS ANGELES, CA – FOX Sports today announced the first sneak peek at the highly anticipated documentary series, PHENOMS, set for a celebration at the FOX Sports House during the 2018 South by Southwest® (SXSW®) Conference and Festivals. This captivating global sports documentary following rising stars on the road to the 2018 FIFA World Cup™, includes commentary and participation from over 60 players, shot in 20 countries by 12 directors. It will debut on FOX and FS1 In May.
The PHENOMS kickoff event at SXSW® will take place Sunday, March 11 at 8pm with a special menu of international hors d’oeuvres planned by Gordon Ramsay (Star of FOX’s MasterChef, MasterChef Junior, Hell’s Kitchen, 24 Hours to Hell and Back). Rob Stone (FOX Sports Studio Host), Ramsay, Mario Melchiot (Executive Producer, PHENOMS; former professional player) and David Worthen Brooks (Executive Producer, PHENOMS; Vice President, FOX Digital Studio) will come together to showcase and discuss the beautiful game and its rising stars The FOX Sports House is in downtown Austin, TX within walking distance of the Austin Convention Center at 318 Colorado Street.
PHENOMS is a 5-part documentary mini-series that chronicles the journey of the next great soccer players on their quests to represent their respective countries in the 2018 FIFA World Cup™. The series allows fans and viewers to experience the personal lives of players through unprecedented behind-the-scenes access. Some of the players featured include young stars from the world’s top clubs and countries such as Dele Alli, Davinson Sanchez, Marco Asensio, Paulo Dybala, Gabriel Jesus, Ousmane Dembele, Adrien Rabiot, Leon Goretzka, Corentin Tolisso, Hirving Lozano and Marquinhos.
