FOX Sports Showcases World’s Top Amateur Talent at 118th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship

NEW YORK – FOX Sports’ slate of USGA championships continues this week with the 118th U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship at The Golf Club of Tennessee in Kingston Springs, Tenn. Offering 15 hours of live television coverage throughout the five rounds of match play, FOX Sports’ coverage begins with the round of 64 on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 4:00 PM ET on FS1.

Weekday rounds air Wednesday through Friday, Aug. 8 to Aug. 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM ET on FS1, while semifinal coverages airs Saturday, Aug. 11 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET on FS2. Thursday’s linear coverage is supplemented by bonus digital coverage from 12:00 to 2:00 PM ET on the FOX Sports App and usga.org. Bonus digital coverage continues on Sunday, Aug. 12 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM ET for the start of the 36-hole championship match, before switching to FS1 from 2:00 to 5:00 PM ET for the crowning of the 2018 champion. In addition, all of FOX Sports’ television coverage is streamed concurrently on the FOX Sports App and usga.org.

Three-time U.S. Women’s Amateur champion Juli Inkster claimed her victories in dominant fashion, winning three years in a row (1980, ’81, ’82) and becoming the first woman since 1934 to accomplish the feat. Inkster brings her unique perspective to FOX Sports’ 18th Tower throughout the championship and is joined by play-by-play announcer Shane Bacon and analyst Brad Faxon. Nicole Castrale and Ned Michaels contribute as on-course reporters while Holly Sonders conducts player interviews and special features throughout the championship.
