John Strong, Stu Holden and Katie Witham Call MLS Conference Championships on FS1
LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, the home of the 2018 MLS Cup, presents Western and Eastern Conference Championships coverage on FS1. In the first leg of the Western Conference Championship, the Portland Timbers host Sporting Kansas City Sunday, Nov. 25, at 7:30 PM ET. Four days later, Atlanta United FC face the New York Red Bulls in the second leg of the Eastern Conference Championship Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 PM ET. Both matches are called by FOX Sports lead play-by-play announcer John Strong, former MLS midfielder Stu Holden and reporter Katie Witham. The winners of the two-leg aggregate-goal series advance to MLS Cup, airing on FOX Saturday, Dec. 8, at 7:30 PM ET.
Peter Vermes’ Sporting Kansas City makes its eighth conference championship appearance, while first-year Portland coach Giovanni Savarese leads the Timbers to their third Western Conference Championship. In New York on Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018 MLS Coach of the Year Gerardo “Tata” Martino’s Atlanta United visit Supporters’ Shield winners, the New York Red Bulls.
