FOX Sports’ BIG EAST Tournament Coverage Tips Off Wednesday Night
BIG EAST Champion Crowned Saturday in Prime Time on FOX
NEW YORK – FOX Sports once again presents exclusive coverage of one of the nation’s premier college basketball conference tournaments, as the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament tips off tonight at 7:00 PM ET on FS1. Live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden, coverage continues through the championship game, which begins Saturday at 6:00 PM ET on the FOX broadcast network.
FOX Sports lead college hoops play-by-play announcer Gus Johnson brings his signature calls and unmatched enthusiasm to the first-round, primetime quarterfinals, semifinals and final. He teams with FS1 lead college basketball analyst Bill Raftery for first-round and evening quarterfinal games and works alongside FOX lead analyst Jim Jackson for the semifinals and championship. Jackson also calls the afternoon quarterfinals alongside play-by-play announcer Justin Kutcher. Working her third tournament in her third city in less than two weeks, Lisa Byington reports during the first-round, primetime quarterfinals, semifinal and final, and Evan Daniels reports for the afternoon quarterfinal games.
FOX Sports brings a full studio presence to Madison Square Garden, anchored by host Rob Stone with analysts Steve Lavin and Donny Marshall. Stone, Lavin and Marshall provide analysis before games, at halftime and between games throughout the tournament, plus a half-hour pregame show prior to the tournament’s championship game Saturday at 6:00 PM ET on FOX.
BIG EAST Tournament viewers have access to a unique second-screen option with #FOXCourtPass. Inspired by fans who document their in-arena experiences with cell phones, FOX Sports has selected three students from its FOX Sports University program to bring fans closer to the action, in the locker rooms and in the stands. Ryan Guerino (Seton Hall, ’20), Dania Haughton (Villanova, ’19) and Dwyght Pena (Seton Hall, ’19) become FOX Sports social media producers during the tournament, and their work will be distributed across the @FOXSports and @CBBonFOX Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
Also available on mobile screens everywhere, the BIG EAST Digital Network, available on the FOX Sports app, provides additional coverage during tournament week beginning with the BIG EAST Awards Ceremony from Madison Square Garden today at 4:00 PM ET. BIG EAST Shootaround host John Fanta is joined this week by former Providence point guard Kyron Cartwright and former Villanova center Darryl Reynolds for programming throughout the tournament, including a half-hour show Saturday at 5:30 PM ET and a Selection Sunday Special at 9:00 PM ET.
The first-round, quarterfinals and semifinals of the 2019 BIG EAST Tournament are available in 4K on select pay TV providers including DIRECTV, T-Mobile, Optimum, DISH and FuboTV. All FOX College Hoops games on the FOX broadcast network and FS1 can be live streamed on the FOX Sports app.
