FOX Sports Unveils Deep Roster of College Football Broadcasters for 2019 Season
Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt and Jenny Taft Return as Network’s Lead Game Crew
Brock Huard and Shane Vereen Join FOX Sports as Game Analysts; Coley Harvey Added to College Football Sideline
NEW YORK – Saturdays get off to a strong start on FOX this college football season, voiced by an impressive lineup of broadcasters, announced today by FOX Sports Executive Vice President, Head of Production & Operations, and Executive Producer Brad Zager.
Gus Johnson, the most exciting play-by-play announcer in sports, once again teams up with Joel Klatt, one of college football’s most trusted authorities, and reporter Jenny Taft to call the network’s top matchup each Saturday. Johnson, Klatt and Taft open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31, with the first game of the Ryan Day era in Columbus, as No. 5 Ohio State welcomes Lane Kiffin and FAU to the Horseshoe at 12:00 PM ET on FOX.
Veteran college football analyst and former Washington quarterback Brock Huard makes his FOX Sports debut this season, joining play-by-play announcer Joe Davis and reporter Bruce Feldman. Davis, Huard and Feldman kick off their season with a pair of games on opening weekend, beginning Thursday, Aug. 29, with South Dakota State at Minnesota at 9:00 PM ET on FS1. The three then head to Palo Alto for a battle between the Pac-12 and Big Ten, as No. 25 Stanford hosts Northwestern Saturday, Aug. 31, at 4:00 PM ET on FOX.
Familiar college football voices Tim Brando and Spencer Tillman return to the broadcast booth for FOX Sports, this season joined by reporter Coley Harvey who comes to the network having covered both college football and the NFL for several years. Brando, Tillman and Harvey open the season in East Lansing on Friday, Aug. 30, as No. 18 Michigan State hosts Tulsa with coverage beginning at 6:30 PM ET on FS1.
This season, FOX Sports college football analyst Robert Smith moves from the studio to the broadcast booth, calling games alongside play-by-play announcer Brian Custer. The duo makes its debut in prime time on Saturday, Aug. 31, as No. 20 Iowa hosts Miami (OH) at 7:30 PM ET on FS1.
A running back at Cal and in the NFL, Shane Vereen joins FOX Sports’ college football lineup as part of a three-person booth with play-by-play announcer Justin Kutcher and analyst Petros Papadakis. They begin the 2019 campaign under the lights on Friday, Aug. 30, with Oklahoma State at Oregon State at 10:30 PM ET on FS1.
Throughout the 2019 college football season, Ben Leber, Evan Moore and Jordan Palmer also contribute to FOX Sports’ coverage as game analysts. The full Week 1 college football schedule with broadcasters is below.
This fall, Saturdays start on FOX with the BIG NOON KICKOFF pregame show. Host Rob Stone and analysts Brady Quinn, Reggie Bush, Matt Leinart and Urban Meyer bring viewers the biggest storylines from around the country at 11:00 AM ET leading into the network’s biggest game of the day at 12:00 PM ET. BIG NOON KICKOFF premieres Saturday, Aug. 31, on FOX.
FOX Sports’ coverage of the 2019 college football season gets underway Saturday, Aug. 24, with FOX COLLEGE FOOTBALL KICKOFF at 4:00 PM on FOX. The one-hour season preview is hosted by Stone with analysis from Meyer, Bush, Leinart, Quinn and Klatt.
