FOX Sports and Facebook Watch Collaborate on New Exclusive Content Deal
“FOX Football Sunday,” Betting-Focused “The People vs. Colin Cowherd,” FOX Deportes’ Liga MX Recap and Various Highlight Packages Lead New Fan-Driven Content
LOS ANGELES — FOX Sports and Facebook are collaborating on new, exclusive interactive programs and segments on Facebook Watch, with a focus on football, sports wagering and more.
The new weekly FOX Football Sunday program streams on Facebook Watch each Monday morning during the season. For the first time ever, fans on Facebook can ask questions of our Hall of Fame football talent – Terry Bradshaw, Howie Long, Michael Strahan, Tony Gonzalez and Curt Menefee. Additionally, every Sunday night, Menefee will host FOX Football Update, a recap of the day’s action with FOX Sports analysts from game locations.
Additionally, in “The People vs Colin Cowherd,” with Colin Cowherd and Jason McIntyre, fans vote on which teams will cover the spread, as provided by FOX Bet, and Cowherd tells people where he believes they’re right and wrong. It appears on Facebook Watch via the FOX Sports, FS1 and “The Herd” Facebook Pages three days a week.
In addition, exclusive FOX Liga MX segments take a deeper look at Mexico’s top-tier domestic soccer league. Each week, FOX Deportes’ Raoul “Pollo” Ortiz and Ricardo Munguia offer a fun, fast-paced look at the results of the previous weekend, preview upcoming matches and debate the week’s hottest topics. These expert voices bring the conversation to life on the FOX Liga MX Facebook Watch page.
“We’re excited to engage our loyal fans with these exclusive, original interactive shows featuring several of FOX Sports’ most dynamic and recognizable talent,” said David Katz, EVP of Digital, FOX Sports. “Our content has thrived on Facebook Watch, and we look forward to extending our successful relationship on the platform.”
“FOX Sports has a strong history of innovation on Facebook and we’re excited for this partnership to take those efforts to new heights,” Rob Shaw, Facebook Head of Facebook League and Media Sports Partnerships.” By combining some of its top talent with interactive programming produced specifically for Facebook Watch, the network will create new and exciting ways to grow and engage its audience.”
The new collaboration between FOX Sports and Facebook also offers regular highlight packages from Liga MX, Big East basketball (2019-’20 season), NASCAR, Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) and the upcoming Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) season.
