Alvin Kamara, Josh Turner, Rex Chapman, Darrell Waltrip, Tennessee Governor Bill Lee and Bryson Byrnes Kick Off Final NASCAR CUP SERIES Race of the 2020 FOX NASCAR Season
DW Brings Back “Boogity, Boogity, Boogity” for the Night
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – FOX Sports wraps its 20th consecutive season of NASCAR coverage with a star-studded prerace supporting cast for tonight’s NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE at Bristol Motor Speedway in Bristol, Tenn. (live on FS1 and FOX Deportes at 8:30 PM ET, with the NASCAR ALL-STAR OPEN airing on FS1 at 7:00 PM ET).
The star-studded cast features New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl running back Alvin Kamara, who attended his first NASCAR race a few weeks ago at Talladega Superspeedway and serves as the honorary starter at Bristol, waving the green flag from the track to start the race.
University of Kentucky basketball standout and NBA veteran Rex Chapman joins FOX NASCAR announcers for a fun “block or charge” review of the first half of the 2020 NASCAR season. Chapman’s segment, via video from his home, falls between the NASCAR ALL-STAR OPEN and the NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE.
Also appearing on the telecast between the two races is longtime FOX NASCAR analyst and NASCAR Hall of Fame driver, Darrell Waltrip, who will be at the track in his home state of Tennessee. DW also reprises his famous “Boogity, boogity, boogity” to start the NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE.
Multi-platinum-selling country star Josh Turner performs the national anthem via video from his home, while Governor Bill Lee of Tennessee delivers the command for drivers to start their engines from the track for the NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE. Atlanta Motor Speedway President Ed Clark gives the command for the NASCAR ALL-STAR OPEN.
Bryson Byrnes, high school senior and son of the late FOX NASCAR broadcaster Steve Byrnes, presents the trophy for the sixth annual The Byrnsie Award via Skype. In honor of Steve Byrnes, affectionately known as ‘Byrnsie,’ the award celebrates an individual in NASCAR who demonstrates principles Byrnes embodied in his personal and professional life — preparation, teamwork and family within the garage area. Bryson Byrnes offers the invocation via video prior to the start of the NASCAR ALL-STAR RACE.
Following Wednesday’s race, FOX NASCAR continues live, exclusive coverage of the NASCAR GANDER RV & OUTDOORS TRUCK SERIES with Saturday’s stop at Texas Motor Speedway (8:00 PM ET on FS1). Additionally, NASCAR RACE HUB continues Monday-Thursday at 6:00 PM ET on FS1.
