U.S. Women’s National Team Returns to the Pitch; Opens Extensive 2021 Campaign on FS1
Four-Time FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Champions Kick Off Slate Monday Against Colombia in Important Tune-Up to February’s SheBelieves Cup
NEW YORK – FOX Sports ushers in a new year of soccer competition highlighted by the reigning FIFA Women’s World Cup™ champion U.S. Women’s National Team. The U.S. WNT kicks off its 2021 campaign on FS1 with an international friendly against Colombia Monday, Jan. 18, at 7:00 PM ET. In February, the team returns to FS1 when it takes the field for the sixth annual SheBelieves Cup, a four-team international tournament.
The network’s lead announce team of legendary play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera and FIFA Women’s World Cup™ veteran and two-time Olympic gold medalist Aly Wagner has the call. Sara Walsh hosts USA-Colombia studio coverage alongside 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup™ champion Heather O’Reilly and U.S. Soccer Hall of Famer Alexi Lalas, bringing viewers key insight and analysis.
The acclaimed duo of Dellacamera and Wagner reunite as the U.S. WNT continues its campaign with the 2021 SheBelieves Cup at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Fla. The four-time FIFA Women’s World Cup™ champions hit the pitch beginning Thursday, Feb. 18, at 7:00 PM ET against Canada before facing Brazil on Sunday, Feb. 21, at 3:00 PM ET and Japan on Wednesday, Feb. 24, at 7:00 PM ET. All matches are televised live on FS1.
Longtime FIFA and CONCACAF match commissioner and National Hall of Famer Dr. Joe Machnik contributes to all four telecasts, lending expertise on rule interpretations and dissecting officiating decisions.
