FOX Sports Announces USFL on FOX Broadcast Team
Veteran Broadcasters Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt Lead FOX Sports Booth
Play-by-Play Announcer Kevin Kugler and Analysts Mark Sanchez and Brock Huard Also Contribute to USFL on FOX Coverage
New USFL Debuts Saturday in Historic Primetime Simulcast on FOX and NBC
LOS ANGELES – Today, FOX Sports announces its complete 2022 USFL broadcast team, led by Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Curt Menefee alongside analyst Joel Klatt, the network’s longtime lead college football analyst.
Play-by-play announcer Kevin Kugler and analyst Mark Sanchez also contribute to FOX Sports’ USFL coverage. Analyst Brock Huard also weighs in from the sidelines in select USFL matchups.
Menefee is best known for his hosting work on FOX NFL SUNDAY, television’s most-watched NFL pregame show for 28 years. Klatt is FOX Sports’ go-to college football expert, calling the network’s top games on BIG NOON SATURDAY, the most-watched regular season college football time slot across any network.
Kugler provides play-by-play for a myriad of FOX Sports properties, including the NFL, MLB and college basketball. A veteran NFL quarterback, Sanchez transitioned to the broadcast booth in 2019 and joined FOX Sports last year as an NFL analyst. The duo was paired in the booth for the 2021-22 NFL on FOX season. Huard, an NFL veteran with extensive broadcast experience, has served as an NFL and college football analyst for FOX Sports since 2019.
The new USFL kicks off with the Generals taking on the Stallions this Saturday, April 16 at 7:30 PM ET from Birmingham, AL. The inaugural game will air in a special simulcast on FOX and NBC, making it the first scheduled event to air on competing broadcast networks since Super Bowl I in 1967.
The action continues Sunday, April 17 with the Houston Gamblers vs. the Michigan Panthers at 12:00 PM ET on NBC and the Philadelphia Stars vs. the New Orleans Breakers at 4:00 PM ET on USA Network. Kickoff weekend concludes with the Tampa Bay Bandits vs. Pittsburgh Maulers at 8:00 PM ET on FS1.
The 2022 USFL 10-week regular season will run through mid-June from Birmingham, followed by a two-week playoff contested in Canton, OH. Culminating with the championship set for Sunday, July 3.

About the USFL
The United States Football League (USFL) is a new, independent football league that is not affiliated with the defunct 1980s league or its owners. The inaugural USFL season will kick off April 16 with eight teams split into two divisions: the Birmingham Stallions, Houston Gamblers, New Orleans Breakers, and Tampa Bay Bandits in the South Division; and the Michigan Panthers, Pittsburgh Maulers, New Jersey Generals, and Philadelphia Stars in the North Division. Each team will play a 10-game regular-season in Birmingham. Playoff semifinals begin in Canton on June 25 between the top two teams in each division and a championship game on July 3 between division winners. The USFL completed its inaugural Draft on March 10 and players reported to Birmingham training camps on March 22. At the conclusion of training camps, each USFL team will carry a 38-man active roster plus a seven-man practice squad. Players will receive base compensation and are eligible for victory bonuses. NBC Sports and FOX Sports are the League’s official media partners and will broadcast all 43 regular- and postseason games on FOX, FS1, NBC, USA, or Peacock networks.
