Fox Sports Announces Concacaf Champions League Quarterfinals Schedule With All Matches On FS1
LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for the world’s top international soccer tournaments, today presents plans for the Concacaf Champions League (CCL) Quarterfinals. From Tuesday, April 4, to Thursday, April 13, all eight Quarterfinal leg matches will air live on FS1 as the eight remaining team’s battle for the region’s top club prize.
Reigning Major League Soccer (MLS) Cup Champions LAFC, the Philadelphia Union and the Vancouver Whitecaps advanced through the Round of 16 and each play home-and-away matches during the Quarterfinals. LAFC and Vancouver battle in an all-MLS matchup Wednesday, April 5, at 10:00 PM ET and Tuesday, April 11, at 10:00 PM ET, while the Philadelphia Union play Liga MX’s Atlas FC on Tuesday, April 4, at 8:00 PM ET and Wednesday, April 12, at 10:00 PM ET.
Broadcaster pairings for the CCL Quarterfinals are led by play-by-play announcer John Strong and match analyst Stu Holden, as well as play-by announcer Keith Costigan and match analyst Warren Barton. The Strong-Holden duo will call every match on the Quarterfinal schedule featuring a MLS participant.
The winner of the tournament qualifies for the annual FIFA Club World Cup™, where they’ll face the top teams from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and South America. Last year, the Seattle Sounders made history when they became the first ever MLS club to win the CCL in front of a record-breaking home crowd.
