John Strong, Stu Holden and Jenny Taft on the Call for Every USMNT Match
LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for the world’s top international soccer tournaments, today unveils its broadcast schedule and roster of commentors for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. Taking place in 15 stadiums across 14 cities in the U.S. and Canada from Friday, June 16, to Sunday, July 16, the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup tournament features the defending Gold Cup champion United States Men’s National Team (USMNT) competing against the region’s top national teams and storied rivals.
Group stage play opens Saturday, June 24, on FS1 with the USMNT’s first group stage match vs. Jamaica starting at 9:00 PM ET from Soldier Field in Chicago. The USMNT’s second group stage match vs. a TBD opponent on Wednesday, June 28, also airs on FS1 with live coverage from CITYPARK in St. Louis set for 9:30 PM ET. On Sunday, July 2, the USMNT’s final group stage match vs. Nicaragua lands on FOX with live coverage commencing at 6:30 PM ET from Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
Veteran host Rob Stone anchors GOLD CUP MATCH DAY throughout the tournament, while an iconic trio of U.S. Soccer legends serve as studio analysts. Landon Donovan, a six-time Gold Cup veteran with the USMNT and the Gold Cup’s all-time leading scorer with 18 goals, returns to FOX Sports’ after contributing to the network’s Gold Cup coverage at the last three editions of the tournament. National Soccer Hall of Famer and lead studio analyst Alexi Lalas and former USMNT midfielder Maurice Edu, a Gold Cup analyst with FOX Sports at the last two editions of the competition, round out the roster of renowned experts.
Play-by-play announcer John Strong and match analyst Stu Holden return as FOX Sports’ distinguished lead commentators for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. Strong and Holden will be joined by reporter Jenny Taft on the call for all USMNT matches. Additional play-by-play and match analyst pairings for the tournament include veteran voice JP Dellacamera and former USMNT star Cobi Jones, as well acclaimed commentator Keith Costigan and former England defender Warren Barton.
Match assignments outside of the Strong-Holden-Taft trio will be announced prior to the start of the competition.
FOX SPORTS GOLD CUP PROGRAMMING HIGHLIGHTS
- Group stage matches throughout the tournament will air on FS1 (20) and FS2 (3)
- Every Quarterfinal and Semifinal match will air on FS1
- The 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Final at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday, July 16, features a primetime start and one-hour pregame show on FOX beginning at 7:00 PM ET
- GOLD CUP MATCH DAY serves as the network’s pregame, postgame and bridge show with just under 17 hours of studio coverage scheduled throughout the competition
- From Friday, June 16, to Tuesday, June 20, the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup Prelims will see three winners advance to the group stage. Prelim matches will air live on FS2 (6) and FOX Soccer Plus (3)
