FOX Sports Adds Former Cards Ace Adam Wainwright as Full-Time FOX MLB Analyst
Three-Time All Star, 2006 World Series Champion to Call Slate of FOX MLB Games Including MLB World Tour: London Series
LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports adds to its championship-caliber rotation, signing World Series champion and 200-game winner Adam Wainwright to its award-winning lineup with a multi-year deal beginning this season, it was announced today by FOX Sports President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer Brad Zager.
“For more than a decade, Adam has been one of baseball’s biggest and most successful stars both on and off the field,” Zager said. “His connection not only to fans in St. Louis but really across the entire sport is what makes him a perfect fit at FOX Sports. As he transitions to the next phase of his career, we are looking forward to him entertaining and educating viewers from the booth all season long.”
Wainwright will call a full slate of regular season and MLB Postseason games, including the first game of the 2024 MLB World Tour: London Series matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Mets on Saturday, June 8 at 1:00 PM ET on FOX from London Stadium.
The right-hander, who retired at the end of the 2023 season, pitched 18 seasons for the St. Louis Cardinals, where he finished his career with 2,202 strikeouts – second to only Bob Gibson (3,117) in Cardinals franchise history. Wainwright earned the Roberto Clemente Humanitarian Award in 2020 and was a four-time Cardinals nominee.
“I’m excited to join the FOX Sports family,” Wainwright said. “I love the game of baseball, and I really enjoy talking about the chess match that goes on between the pitcher and the hitter. Hopefully, my experience on the field will allow me the opportunity to share the game I love in a unique and deep way, bringing viewers closer to the game.”
Always a fan-favorite, “Waino” worked with Adam Amin and World Series catcher AJ Pierzynski in the FOX MLB booth for Postseason coverage in 2020, 2021 and 2023.
