Legendary Defender Giorgio Chiellini Joins FOX Sports as New Studio Analyst for UEFA Euro 2024™

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s new English-language home for UEFA EURO 2024TM, today announces legendary defender Giorgio Chiellini will join the network’s broadcast team this summer as a studio analyst. In his broadcast debut with FOX Sports, Chiellini will appear in studio and share his unique insights around the prestigious tournament from Friday, June 14, to Sunday, July 14.

An Azzurri icon, Chiellini played 117 times for Italy across a storied 18 years with the National Team, including serving as captain of Italy’s UEFA EURO 2020TM title run and being named Defender of the Tournament following the team’s triumph. Heralded as one of the all-time great Italian center backs for his ferocious style of play, he made his National Team debut in 2004 and appeared in two FIFA World CupTM competitions with Italy in 2010 and 2014.

“The UEFA EURO is of massive importance and is a tournament that will always be special to me, so I was honored when I received the call with the opportunity to commentate,” Chiellini said. “I’m very proud to be a part of the FOX Sports family around a competition this big, and I look forward to being serious, but also having some fun at the desk, while continuing to be a part of growing the beautiful game here in the United States.”

Most recently, Chiellini spent two seasons playing in Major League Soccer (MLS) notching 45 caps with Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC). During his successful run in MLS, LAFC thrived in defense posting 18 shutouts. He announced his retirement from professional soccer in December 2023. Earlier this year, LAFC announced Chiellini as a new Player Development Coach assisting with first-team player development.

Prior to joining LAFC, Chiellini made his mark on the beautiful game with Juventus spending 18 years with the Serie A club. He was an instrumental part of an unprecedented run between 2011 and 2020 that saw Juventus win nine straight Serie A titles. His 561 matches played rank third on Juventus’ all-time appearance list, and he was awarded Serie A Defender of the Year three years in a row from 2008 to 2010. His career also included stints at Fiorentina, Roma and Livorno, where he began his club career in 2000.

UEFA EURO 2024TM begins Friday, June 14, at 3:00 PM ET on FOX when host nation Germany opens group stage play vs. Scotland. With UEFA EURO 2024TM matches on FOX and FS1 featuring 9:00 AM ET, 12:00 PM ET and 3:00 PM ET start times, FOX Sports will offer sunrise-to-sunset coverage around the most anticipated stretch on this year’s soccer calendar.

The full lineup of broadcasters, which includes a number of new faces joining FOX Sports for UEFA EURO 2024TM, will be announced in the weeks ahead.

Four Clubs Set to Battle in 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinals on FS1

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for the world’s top international soccer tournaments, today announces all four 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup Semifinal matches to air live on FS1 from Tuesday, April 23, to Wednesday, May 1.

Major League Soccer’s Columbus Crew and a trio of Liga MX clubs in Club America, CF Pachuca and CF Monterrey headline the four-team field competing for qualification in the expanded FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ and the right to hoist the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup in celebration as kings of the region.

The Semifinal round starts this week with first-leg matches featuring Club America vs. CF Pachuca on Tuesday, April 23, at 10:00 PM ET, followed by Columbus Crew vs. CF Monterrey on Wednesday, April 24, at 8:00 PM ET. The second-leg deciders will be held next week on Tuesday, April 30, with CF Pachuca vs. Club America beginning at 9:00 PM ET, followed by CF Monterrey vs. Columbus Crew on Wednesday, May 1, at 10:00 PM ET.

Acclaimed play-by-play announcer John Strong pairs with former U.S. Men’s National Team midfielder and match analyst Stu Holden to form FOX Sports’ lead broadcast team on the call for all four Semifinal matches.

The Basketball Tournament (TBT) and FOX Sports Announce Multi-Year Media Rights Agreement

The Basketball Tournament to Air 27 Games This Summer on the FOX Sports Family of Networks

$1 Million Winner-Take-All Championship Game Airs August 4 on FOX 

BOSTONApril 18, 2024 – The Basketball Tournament (TBT), the $1 million winner-take-all summer event today announced a multi-year media rights agreement with FOX Sports to carry games on FOX, FS1, and FS2. As part of the agreement, the network will carry 27 TBT games live on linear television, including three on FOX.

“We are thrilled to make FOX Sports the new home of TBT,” said TBT co-owner and Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul. “The event has experienced tremendous growth these past few years and this agreement will take it to new heights. With a growing number of players I’ve crossed paths within the league committed to play, this summer will be both competitive and entertaining for TBT.”

“We are excited to kick off our second decade of TBT with FOX Sports,” said TBT founder and CEO Jon Mugar. “Across FOX, FS1, and FS2, we will reach more basketball fans than ever before, further cementing TBT as a mainstay on the basketball calendar. This summer will make for our most electrifying tournament yet.”

TBT is a 64-team, single-elimination tournament hosted across eight regionals. All regional events are hosted by an alumni team representing a powerhouse college basketball program. This summer’s locations and host teams include:

  • Wichita, Kansas (hosted by the AfterShocks/Wichita State)
  • Houston, Texas (hosted by Forever Coogs/University of Houston)
  • Indianapolis, Indiana (hosted by All Good Dawgs/Butler University)
  • Cincinnati, Ohio (hosted by Nasty Nati/University of Cincinnati)
  • Dayton, Ohio (hosted by Red Scare/University of Dayton)
  • Lexington, Kentucky (hosted by La Familia/University of Kentucky)
  • Louisville, Kentucky (hosted by The Ville/University of Louisville)
  • Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (hosted by Zoo Crew/University of Pittsburgh)

TBT’s regionals will run from Friday, July 19 to Wednesday, July 24. One team from each region will advance to TBT’s quarterfinals, which will take place Monday, July 29 and Tuesday, July 30. TBT’s semifinals will be played on Friday, August 2, and the $1 million winner-take-all championship will be played on Sunday, August 4.

Notable players committed this year include former NBA players Eric Bledsoe and Willie Cauley-Stein of La Familia, the University of Kentucky alumni team, and Russ Smith and Montrezl Harrell of The Ville, the University of Louisville alumni team.

The three games scheduled to air live on FOX include The Ville’s first-round game of the Louisville Regional on Saturday, July 20, La Familia’s second-round game (if they advance) of the Lexington Regional on Sunday, July 21, and the $1 million championship game on Sunday, August 4.

TBT’s full television schedule and additional broadcast details will be released at a later date.

Now entering its 11th year, The Basketball Tournament has grown tremendously in popularity amongst both fans and players. A record 77,000 fans attended TBT games across the country last year, including 7,202 for TBT’s quarterfinals, a new TBT single-game record. More than 75 players with NBA experience competed in TBT 2023 as well, the most in tournament history.

TBT is the home of the Elam Ending®, the alternate ending to basketball games where teams play to a Target Score™, which has previously been used in the NBA All-Star game and is currently in use in the G League, the CEBL, and other events across the globe. Hosted by FOX NFL Reporter Kristina Pink, the special episode celebrates the indelible legacies and impact of various trailblazing athletes including Major League Baseball greats Jackie Robinson and Reggie Jackson, Angel City FC’s Madison Hammond, collegiate women’s basketball star Caitlin Clark and the Minnesota Vikings’ Camryn Bynum.

To honor Jackie Robinson and commemorate the 77th anniversary of his historic Major League Baseball debut that broke the color barrier, VOICES features an essay tribute to the baseball legend voiced by six-time MLB All-Star and World Series champion CC Sabathia. The new VOICES episode will also feature a vignette on Iowa Hawkeyes point guard and basketball phenom Caitlin Clark and her epic run to the 2024 NCAA women’s basketball national championship that captivated audiences and set a new precedent for women’s sports.

The episode also follows Minnesota Vikings Safety Camryn Bynum to his home nation of the Philippines to introduce the impactful work he does to raise awareness about the hardships in his community through the Bynum Faith Foundation, which provides long-term support and disaster relief with a mission to restore hope, faith and love to underserved communities primarily in the Philippines and the U.S. Viewers will also learn about his recently launched Camp Beezy, a football training camp in Manila bringing American football to young athletes in the Philippines.

Lastly, viewers will get an exclusive sneak peek into the history and culture of the marching band at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), one of the most heralded organizations on HBCU campuses. Los Angeles – For the eighth consecutive year, FOX Sports presents full coverage of the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Presented by Purina Pro Plan, from Saturday, May 11, to Tuesday, May 14, across FOX Sports’ family of networks, digital platforms, and WestminsterKennelClub.org. The world’s top canine athletes are joined by many of FOX Sports’ most recognizable voices at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Queens, NY, beginning with the Masters Agility Championship at Westminster and culminating with the crowning of Best in Show.

WESTMINSTER WEEK SCHEDULE

Westminster Week kicks off with the 11th Annual Masters Agility Championship at Westminster on Saturday, with preliminary competition streaming live on the FOX Sports App from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM ET. Agility competition concludes in a special presentation on FOX from 2:00 to 4:30 PM ET on Sunday, May 12.

On Monday, May 13 and Tuesday, the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show showcases breed judging each day from 1:00 to 4:00 PM ET on FS2. Primetime coverage of the 148th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show continues, from 7:00 to 11:00 PM ET on FS1 with a 30-minute pre-event program before breed winners enter the ring at 7:30 PM ET. FOX Sports’ nominees include a diverse range of live events, shows, and original programming. The milestone 30th anniversary season of NFL on FOX received six nominations across multiple categories, recognizing the property’s longstanding commitment to delivering exceptional live coverage, studio production and innovative technical and graphic design.

FOX Sports’ Major League Baseball (MLB) coverage was honored with four nominations across its live events and FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ earned three nominations, recognizing the tremendous effort put forth to execute coverage of the global event. FOX College Football’s BIG NOON KICK OFF and the network’s inaugural broadcast of the Belmont Stakes were close behind with two nominations.
