Daniel Sturridge

Former England National Team striker Daniel Sturridge joins FOX Sports in his U.S. broadcast debut this summer as a studio analyst for UEFA EURO 2024™. Sturridge made 383 appearances for club and country across his storied career, scoring 134 times and featuring for the Three Lions at the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014™ and UEFA EURO 2016™. Sturridge’s successful Premier League club career was headlined by goal scoring and trophy winning runs on the wing with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester City.

Sturridge registered his first cap for England in 2011 and was an important contributor for Great Britain in the 2012 Summer Olympics. In 2023, Sturridge made his commentator debut when he joined Sky Sports in the United Kingdom ahead of the Premier League season.

Clint Dempsey

Clint Dempsey returns to FOX Sports this summer as a studio analyst for CONMEBOL Copa America 2024™ after debuting with the network as an analyst at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Dempsey brings a wealth of experience to FOX Sports in his new analyst role having represented the United States at the 2006, 2010 and 2014 FIFA World Cups™, where he became the first and only USMNT player in squad history to score in three different tournaments. He retired from the game in 2018 tied with former teammate Landon Donovan for the title of all-time leading scorer in USMNT history with 57 goals. With 142 appearances for the USMNT over the span of 13 years, Dempsey is widely considered one of the greatest U.S. players of all time.

Dempsey’s accolades over his 15-year career included winning U.S. Soccer’s Male Player of the Year award three times (2007, 2011 and 2012), the 2004 MLS Rookie of the Year and the 2017 MLS Comeback Player of the Year. He played for two American clubs in MLS’ New England Revolution and Seattle Sounders FC, and two English clubs in the Premier League’s Fulham FC and Tottenham Hotspur.

A Nacogdoches, Texas native, Dempsey was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame as part of the 2022 class.

Ana Jurka

Ana Jurka is an Emmy Award winning journalist who makes her FOX Sports debut this summer as a reporter for CONMEBOL Copa America 2024™. Jurka will be embedded with the Argentina National Team throughout their tournament run. Jurka’s broadcasting career soared in 2013 when she joined Telemundo Deportes, where she covered some of the biggest events in sports as a host, feature correspondent and reporter, including the FIFA World Cup™, FIFA Women’s World Cup™, Olympic Games, NFL, MLB and more.

Before joining Telemundo Deportes, Jurka was a sportscaster at Telemundo Orlando.  She began her career in 2004 in her native Honduras as co-host of Canal 11’s popular car show “Sobre Ruedas.”

PROGRAMMING LINEUP
The premier lineup starts with a pair of NL East rivals as the New York Mets face the first place Philadelphia Phillies in the London Series which is presented by Zoom Workplace (1:00 PM ET, FOX and FOX Deportes). The trio of Adam Amin, Adam Wainwright and A.J. Pierzynski reunite with reporter Tom Verducci for the call across the pond.

Immediately following, FOX Sports brings viewers full coverage of 156th edition of the Belmont Stakes presented by NYRA Bets live from Saratoga Race Course (4:00 PM ET, FOX).

The network caps off SUPER SATURDAY with FOX MLB’s lead crew of Joe Davis, John Smoltz and Ken Rosenthal as regionalized baseball coverage is highlighted by a must-see, star-filled interleague showdown between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees (7:30 PM ET, FOX).

STUDIO COVERAGE
Coverage of SUPER SATURDAY begins at 12:30 PM ET as the network’s acclaimed MLB pregame show, led by veteran host Kevin Burkhardt, World Series Champion Alex Rodriguez and Hall of Famers David Ortiz and Derek Jeter, come together for a special edition live from the Bronx.

In addition to preparing viewers for all the action throughout the day, the show features unprecedented behind-the-scenes access from Yankee Stadium, including Monument Park and more, plus a sit-down interview between Rodriguez and Mets standout Francisco Lindor.

FOX Sports Unveils Broadcast Teams for UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™

LOS ANGELES – FOX Sports, America’s English-language home for this year’s sunrise-to-sunset presentation of UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™, today unveils its complete lineup of distinguished broadcast teams ahead of the network’s massive Summer of Soccer featuring the world’s biggest national teams and brightest stars. Brad Zager, FOX Sports President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer, made today’s announcement highlighting the teams.

“We’re thrilled to bring this group of world-class broadcasters from all around the globe together and have them lead the call around these two exciting tournaments,” Zager said. “Their shared passion and experience will help set the tone this summer when FOX Sports presents an amazing month of soccer between the UEFA EURO™ and Copa América™.”

Four broadcast teams will be on-site in Germany to call every UEFA EURO 2024™ match in-stadium from Friday, June 14 to Sunday, July 14. Heralded commentator Ian Darke pairs with U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) icon Landon Donovan to form FOX Sports’ lead broadcast team for UEFA EURO 2024™. In 2010, Darke captured the hearts of American soccer fans when he called Donovan’s memorable injury-time goal for the U.S. against Algeria. Veteran voice Derek Rae partners with former England goalkeeper Robert Green in his FOX Sports match analyst debut, while former England defender Warren Barton joins esteemed play-by-play announcer Jacqui Oatley. Finally, acclaimed announcer Darren Fletcher pairs with legendary England midfielder Owen Hargreaves in their FOX Sports debuts for UEFA EURO 2024™.

For CONMEBOL Copa América™ from Thursday, June 20 to Sunday, July 14, celebrated play-by-play announcer John Strong and former USMNT dynamo Stu Holden return as FOX Sports’ lead broadcast team on the call for every USMNT group-stage match and more. The Strong-Holden pairing has called more than 300 soccer matches together since 2014 – more than any other English-language television duo in the past decade. Veteran play-by-play announcer JP Dellacamera pairs with National Soccer Hall of Famer and match analyst Cobi Jones, while Luis Omar Tapia brings his signature call to the competition alongside match analyst and former USMNT star Maurice Edu.

Two veteran rules analysts provide instant insights on key moments across both tournaments in former referees Dr. Joe Machnik and Mark Clattenburg.

Match assignments will be announced before each tournament begins. New and returning studio analysts, reporters and hosts will also be revealed in the lead-up to the competitions.

Ian Darke returns for his second major international soccer tournament with FOX Sports after calling matches at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. Revered as one of the most recognized voices in soccer, Darke captured the hearts of American soccer fans during FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010™ when he called Landon Donovan’s injury-time goal against Algeria, which helped the United States advance to the knockout stage amid joyous scenes of celebration nationwide. He currently serves as a commentator for ESPN and TNT Sports in the United Kingdom.

Derek Rae currently serves as lead commentator on ESPN’s Bundesliga coverage and is synonymous with the Bundesliga around the world as a fluent German speaker. Landon Donovan returns to the broadcast booth as lead match analyst for UEFA EURO 2024™. He made his FIFA World Cup™ debut as a studio and match analyst with FOX Sports in 2022 after contributing to the network’s Copa América Centenario coverage in 2016. Donovan’s decorated career as an American soccer icon featured three FIFA World Cup™ appearances as a player for the U.S. and countless memorable goals. He retired from the game in 2018 tied with former teammate Clint Dempsey for the title of all-time leading scorer in USMNT history with 57 goals.

Robert Green, a former goalkeeper on the England National Team, joins FOX Sports in Germany this summer as a match analyst. John Strong is FOX Sports’ lead soccer play-by-play announcer and the signature voice on many of the biggest matches across the network. Strong has called numerous prestigious matches throughout his career, including the FIFA World Cup™ Final in 2018 and 2022. He has been a fixture across FOX Sports’ soccer portfolio since joining the network full-time in 2015, and has contributed to other properties, including serving as FOX Sports’ play-by-play announcer at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Masters Agility Championship.

JP Dellacamera is widely regarded as a pioneering voice for U.S. Soccer with a broadcasting career spanning 40 years. He brings decades of experience covering a total of 17 FIFA World Cups (10 men’s, seven women’s) on television and radio since 1986. The Colin Jose Media Award recipient and winner of the Clay Berling Media Career of Excellence Award has served as FOX Sports’ lead play-by-play voice for the FIFA Women’s World Cup™ since 2015.

Luis Omar Tapia joined FOX Sports earlier this year and is best known as the voice of the UEFA Champions League across the U.S. and Latin America having called the competition for 27 consecutive years. Stu Holden is FOX Sports’ lead soccer match analyst for the network’s premier soccer coverage. Holden has called numerous prestigious matches throughout his career, including the FIFA World Cup™ Final in 2018 and 2022, and most recently served as a studio analyst for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™. A USMNT veteran who rose through the ranks to represent America at the 2008 Summer Olympics, 2009 and 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cups and FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010™, Holden officially retired from the sport in 2016 with 25 caps for the U.S.

Cobi Jones, a three-time FIFA World Cup™ veteran as a player and the standing record holder for most appearances in USMNT history with 164 caps, is back with FOX Sports for his third major international soccer tournament as a match analyst. He most recently called matches at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ and FIFA World Cup 2018™. For the past three decades, Jones has served as an American soccer icon, both on and off the pitch. He was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2011.

Maurice Edu joined FOX Sports in 2018 following his retirement from professional soccer and made his major international soccer tournament debut as a broadcaster at FIFA Women’s World Cup France 2019™. Edu also starred as a studio analyst on FIFA WORLD CUP TONIGHT at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™. On the international stage, Edu earned 46 caps with the USMNT, representing the squad at the 2008 Summer Olympics and FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010™. He currently serves as a match and studio analyst for Major League Soccer and CBS.

Rules Analysts

Dr. Joe Machnik is a former FIFA and Concacaf Match Commissioner who was inducted into the National Soccer Hall of Fame in 2018. An All-American goalkeeper at Long Island University, he coached his alma mater to the 1966 National Championship Game and is believed to be the only person to play in the NCAA Soccer Tournament, coach in three NCAA finals and referee a NCAA Championship.

Mark Clattenburg enjoyed a successful career as a referee on the international stage since working his first match 24 years ago. He refereed more than 450 Premier League matches over the course of 13 seasons and in 2016, the UEFA Champions League Final and UEFA European Championship Final. The UEFA EURO 2024™ and CONMEBOL Copa América 2024™ mark his latest major tournaments as a rules analyst with FOX Sports following FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™ and FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

Robert Green

Former England goalkeeper Robert Green joins FOX Sports in Germany this summer as a match analyst for UEFA 2024™. During his playing career, Green appeared in net over 250 times in the Premier League, was a member of England’s FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010™ squad and starred for the Three Lions at UEFA EURO 2012™.

Green currently serves as a match analyst for Amazon Prime in the United Kingdom and BBC Radio’s coverage of the Premier League in the U.K., as well as Channel 4’s coverage of the England National Team in the U.K. In the U.S., Green currently serves as commentator on CBS Sports’ presentation of the UEFA Champions League. He announced his retirement from playing in May 2019.

Darren Fletcher

Acclaimed commentator and veteran voice Darren Fletcher joins FOX Sports in his U.S. broadcast network debut this summer for UEFA EURO 2024™.  He currently works for TNT Sports in the United Kingdom calling UEFA Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Europa League matches. He also serves as host of the popular Friday Football Social show on BBC Radio.

Fletcher’s career in broadcasting began in 1993 with local radio stations in his hometown of Nottingham when he was just 18. He joined BBC Radio Five Live in 2004, where he was part of Five Live’s main commentary team across two FIFA World Cup™ tournaments and one UEFA EURO™. In 2010, he joined BBC Sport to be part of their coverage and was a part of the BBC team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London. From 2017 to 2018, Fletcher served as a director at Notts County Football Club.

Owen Hargreaves

A former maestro of the midfield on the England National Team, Owen Hargreaves makes his U.S. broadcast network debut with FOX Sports as a match analyst in Germany for the  famed UEFA EURO 2024™ tournament.

Hargreaves was a key member of the England National Team at FIFA World Cup Korea/Japan 2002™, UEFA EURO 2004™, and FIFA World Cup Germany 2006™, and his club career featured legacy defining runs with Manchester United in the Premier League and Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.  As a member of the Three Lions, Hargreaves earned 42 caps for England. In 2006, he was awarded the honor of England Player of the Year and England Player of the World Cup, the first player to win both in the same year.

He currently works for TNT Sports in the United Kingdom as a match analyst.

Ian Darke

Heralded as one of the most recognized and revered voices in soccer, Ian Darke joins FOX Sports as lead play-by-play announcer in Germany for the network’s dedicated presentation of the UEFA EURO 2024™ tournament. Darke made his debut with FOX Sports as a celebrated commentator at FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™.

Darke made his FIFA World Cup™ debut on America television with ABC and ESPN at the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA™ before going on to call matches for the networks at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™, 2011 FIFA Women’s World Cup Germany™ and 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™. He also called 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ matches for the world feed and covered 1982 and 1990 FIFA World Cup™ events for BBC Radio and Eurosport.

Darke’s profession in broadcasting began more than 40 years ago at BBC Radio, where he hosted the renowned “Sports Report” show on Saturday afternoons. Working with the BBC for a decade, he won the admiration of listeners and viewers alike before landing a role calling soccer and boxing matches with Sky Sports in 1992. His rewarding run as a commentator with Sky Sports lasted 20 years.

In 2010, Darke joined ESPN as a play-by-play announcer and has since been a mainstay on the network’s soccer telecasts. He captured the hearts of American soccer fans that same year when he called Landon Donovan’s injury-time goal against Algeria, which saved the United States from elimination and helped them advance to the World Cup knockout stage amid wild scenes of joy around the nation. He also currently serves as lead commentator for Barclays Premier League and other major European league matches on BT Sport in the United Kingdom.
