Mark Flekken - Concedes six in blowoutFlekken made four saves and conceded six goals in Saturday's 6-0 loss at Wolfsburg.
ImpactIt was a nightmare return to Bundesliga play for Flekken and Freiburg Saturday, allowing six goals on ten shots on target, both season highs. Flekken has now conceded more than three goals twice this season, but the first one came at Bayern Munich on Oct. 16, which can be somewhat forgiven. It will not get much easier for Flekken, as the team takes on Eintracht Frankfurt Wednesday, who have 35 goals in 16 league matches this season.

Nicolas Hofler - Records one shot on targetHofler recorded two shots (one on target), made one tackle and had five interceptions in Saturday's 6-0 loss at Wolfsburg.
ImpactHofler recorded Freiburg's lone shot on target Saturday, but did not find the back of the net. It was a rough return to Bundesliga play for the team, with nothing positive defensively or offensively outside of Hofler's shot on target. The German midfielder had a solid statistical defensive performance, leading the team in interceptions with five, but it's hard to look past the six goals conceded. Hofler and the team will look to bounce back on Wednesday versus Eintracht Frankfurt.

Michael Gregoritsch - Three chances created in lossGregoritsch had three chances created and one off-target shot in Saturday's 6-0 loss at Wolfsburg.
ImpactGregoritsch was one of few bright spots in Saturday's blowout loss as he contributed three created chances - no other Freiburg player had more than one. He leads the team in assists with three and is second in goals (six) in 16 appearances. While this performance is a bit concerning from the Freiburg attack, it's only a matter of time before the rust is shook off and Gregoritsch and company contribute more goals.

Kevin Paredes - Assists as substituteParedes had one assist on one chance created and had two crosses (one accurate) in Saturday's 6-0 win versus Freiburg.
ImpactParedes was subbed on in the 67th minute Saturday and it did not take long for him to have an impact on the game. He assisted Ridle Baku with a cross in the 80th minute, his first of the season. The 19-year-old American has mainly been featured off the bench, having eight appearances this season with just one start and 196 minutes played overall. If the youngster starts getting more playing time, more goal contributions could follow.

Luca Waldschmidt - Scores penalty as substituteWaldschmidt scored one goal on two shots (one on target) in Saturday's 6-0 win versus Freiburg.
ImpactWaldschmidt was subbed on in the 78th minute Saturday, and scored a penalty in the 94th minute right before the final whistle. This marked his first goal of the season in eight appearances (three starts). Given his lack of playing time and his place on the depth chart, the odds are against Waldschmidt to score more in the near future.
JANUARY 21, 2023ROTOWIRE
Felix Nmecha - Assists in win versus FreiburgNmecha had one assist on one chance created and had two clearances, one interception and one blocked shot in Saturday's 6-0 win versus Freiburg.
ImpactNmecha assisted Yannick Gerhardt in the 55th minute Saturday, his third assist this season. He also was solid defensively, notching two clearances, one interception and one blocked shot before being subbed off in the 70th minute. Nmecha has five goal contributions (two goals and three assists) this season in 14 appearances (seven starts). Given his high production in fairly limited time, he should be a high-upside option if he gets more playing time.
