Wins two tackles in season finale Paredes made an interception and won two of three tackles in Sunday's 3-1 Decision Day defeat against Real Salt Lake.

Impact Paredes tallied two goals and two assists across 27 MLS appearances (20 starts) in midfield this season for Portland, but he still looked like the backup option behind Diego Chara and Eryk Williamson whenever all three were available. Chara will be 37 in April however, so the 24-year-old Paredes could supplant him in the preferred XI soon.
