Suffers thigh injury Mendy was diagnosed with a right thigh injury Monday, the club announced.

Impact Mendy spent most of the 2022-23 season injured, and it seems he'll begin the new campaign on the same note following the latest setback. Muscular injuries can be complicated and Mendy has dealt with a fair share of them in recent months, so it's safe to say he's in doubt for the Liga opener against Athletic Bilbao on Aug. 12. If he can't play, then Eduardo Camavinga or Fran Garcia would start on the left side of the defense.
