Lucas Digne ruled out as another injury hits France

Picks up ankle injury Digne picked up an ankle injury and has been withdrawn from the French national team.
Impact It's not a good sign for Digne, who seems to deal with a lot of minor injuries throughout a season. Of course, his last collarbone injury was supposed to keep him out multiple weeks and he didn't miss a match late last season. The good news is that he'll have almost two weeks of recovery ahead of the Oct. 2 trip to Leeds.

Contributes to clean sheet win Digne won three tackles and logged three clearances while helping to keep the sheet clean during Friday's 1-0 victory over Southampton. He also sent in four inaccurate crosses.
Impact Digne did well to get forward quite a few times Friday, but neither team were able to consistently break the opposing defensive pressure. As such, in a match devoid of much fantasy offense, the wing back proved his utility with some decent peripheral numbers. Digne still has yet to get going this season, but hopefully Friday's result is a step in the right direction.

Impact The French international defender was effective at neutralizing Bournemouth attacks down the right wing. He was also one of Villa's more creative playmakers as he sought to assist his strikers and attacking midfielders through crosses. Digne will likely be a regular starter this year and an active fantasy scorer in both defensive statistics and assists.

Impact Digne's cross to Matty Cash on Sunday opened the scoring and looked like there might be an upset on the cards to end the season, but he couldn't prevent City's furious comeback in the second half. After a rough first half of the campaign and a falling out with then-Everton manager Rafa Benitez, he had four assists and four clean sheets in 16 Premier League appearances (all starts) since moving to Villa in January.
