Out 3-4 months Hernandez has suffered an MCL injury that will sideline him for 3-4 months, Atlanta United announced Tuesday.
Impact Hernandez was subbed out early in Saturday's loss to Columbus with a knock, which has now been confirmed as a pretty significant MCL injury that will keep him out until the late summer at least. Atlanta just keeps losing players to long-term injuries, and Mikey Ambrose will likely continue at right back until Andrew Gutman (quadriceps) is fit enough to return to the lineup and push Brooks Lennon back to the position.

Suffers leg injury against Columbus Hernandez was subbed out of Saturday's defeat against the Crew in the sixth minute after suffering a leg injury.
Impact Hernandez made his first MLS start since mid-March on Saturday, but his night ended very early after going down injured within 10 minutes. Mikey Ambrose replaced him at right back in the match as Brooks Lennon was already filling in for the injured Andrew Gutman (quadriceps) on the left.

Transfers to Atlanta permanently Hernandez signed a three-year contract with Atlanta United after transferring from Abderdeen, the club announced Monday.
Impact Hernandez spent 2021 on-loan with Atlanta, making 13 MLS appearances (eight starts) as a backup option on either wing back position. The 24-year-old now joins from the Scottish club on a permanent basis.
