A 13-year-old just made his debut for Celtic's Under-20s
This is the year of the Young Dembele. The 19-year-old Ousmane Dembele's been tearing it up in Europe for Borussia Dortmund, 20-year-old Moussa Dembele is crushing it for Celtic's senior team, and now 13-year-old Karamoko Dembele just made his debut for Celtic's Under-20s.
Here he is, making his debut, looking TINY amongst all the other players on the field:
Karamoko Dembele became a viral sensation when footage of him tearing it up in a youth tournament emerged:
Since then, he's apparently impressed in the youth ranks. So much so, that he was a surprise inclusion on the bench for manager Tommy McIntyre's squad to take on Hearts on Monday. It was an even bigger surprise when he stepped on for 16-year-old Jack Aitchison in the 81st minute. And he played well according to Celtic's website, where it was noted that the "diminutive playmaker didn’t look out of place and played his part in the closing stages" of the match.
Dembele is still only 13, so it's clearly wayyyyy too early to say he's going to be a star. But man, at 13 years old with the skill he already has? It's hard not to be at least a little bit excited about his prospects.
