Cristiano Ronaldo says he's ready to play against Osasuna
Cristiano Ronaldo is set to return for Real Madrid's clash against Osasuna this Saturday, much to the delight of Los Blancos fans. Ronaldo had been ramping up training earlier this week, and at an event in Spain on Thursday announced, "I'm fine. Yes, I'll play."
The Real Madrid star has been shelved since picking up an injury to the medial cruciate ligament in his left knee during Portugal's win in the Euro 2016 final on July 10. The injury forced him out of Portugal's World Cup qualifying loss to Switzerland on Tuesday, as well as Real Madrid's opening two La Liga tilts.
Real Madrid didn't lose any ground in the La Liga title chase, winning their first two matches sans Ronaldo, but now the prolific winger is back and ready to get rolling with Los Blancos. Ronnie racked up 35 goals in 12 assists in last season's domestic campaign. His return is good news for Real Madrid, and likely unwelcome news for their rivals.
