When Karim Bellarabi scored to put Bayer Leverkusen in front of Augsburg, 1-0, it was a big moment for the sputtering German side. But it had much greater meaning than just an early lead for Bayer. It was the 50,000th goal in the history of the Bundesliga.

The 54-year-old league has long been one of the highest-scoring in Europe and these 50,000 goals have added up quickly.
Fittingly, Bellarabi's goal was a pretty terrific team goal. From the quick transition, to Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez's one-touch pass, to Kai Havertz's pinpoint cross, to Bellarabi's clinical finish, there wasn't anything exceptional. It was just a team working together perfectly and quickly. It's how you draw up counterattacks and, this being the Bundesliga, speed and efficiency is how the 50,000th goal should be scored.
