4-Star PF Ira Lee Commits to Arizona adding to the No. 1 Recruiting Class in the Nation
The 2017 recruiting class for the Arizona Wildcats is currently ranked No.1. Already at the top, Sean Miller and his staff have added another ESPN Top 100 recruit with Ira Lee committing today via Twitter.
As we discussed earlier this week the No. 1 recruiting class in the nation has just added another commit after temporarily dipping to No. 3. Ira Lee announced today on Twitter he was joining an already star-studded Arizona Basketball 2017 recruiting class.

The 4-star PF, No. 59 in the 247Sports Top 100, is now the fourth Top 100 basketball player to commit to the University of Arizona. Sean Miller has secured the Wildcats at the top of the recruiting world, and this ride still isn’t over.
At 6-foot-8 Ira Lee can play both Power Forward and Small Forward. His offensive and defensive ability will allow Miller to utilize his skills in various ways. A lot of experts and media are comparing the type of play he can bring to the table with what we saw in Solomon Hill, Aaron Gordon, and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson.

Having watched a lot of his highlights, I see a lot of talent with a high ceiling. He’s just scratching the surface of what he is capable of. He has a quick first step to the hoop. And his post-up game is smooth with a quick turn-around jumper.
Lee chose Arizona over fellow Pac-12 basketball elites Cal and Oregon. Playing out of Crossroads in Santa Monica, California, Miller and company definitely faced some challenges. But in the end, the relentless pursuit, and creating a relationship very early, was the perfect mixture to land the power forward.
Speaking with Rivals.com, Lee mentioned the relationship he and Miller share played an important role in his decision to commit:
“That’s a huge part of it. Coach Miller offered me himself. It wasn’t an assistant coach; it was him. He has my trust and he’s done a great job of developing that with me. Some days we don’t talk about basketball, we talk about all other kinds of things.”
The maturity is there with Lee, which is a theme we’ve seen with the players Miller recruits. The excitement about Lee committing was evident by the amount of love and excitement from the fans.

Former Arizona Wildcat Stanley Johnson, who Ira said was a mentor of his, also showed his support for Ira Lee by retweeting the announcement! The Wildcat family was quick to embrace the newest commit.
The excitement is only going to build as Arizona expects to sign two or three more recruits, with Lonnie Walker being viewed as the next commit. The Arizona Wildcats are continuing to show the country they’re one of the elite. Present and future continue to look bright in Tucson. BEARDOWN!
