MILWAUKEE (AP) No. 5 seed Iowa State (23-10) vs. No. 12 seed Nevada (28-6)

First round, Midwest region; Milwaukee; 9:57 p.m. EDT

BOTTOM LINE: Two of the hottest teams in the country. Nevada has won nine in a row by an average of 15 points, storming to the Mountain West Conference Tournament championship. Iowa State has won nine of 10, including an 80-74 victory over West Virginia in the Big 12 Tournament final.

FOR 3: Led by Naz Mitrou-Long, Iowa State has made a whopping 329 3-pointers while shooting 40.2 percent from beyond the arc. Nevada also shoots well from the perimeter, with 312 3s on 38.5 percent shooting, and the Wolf Pack also rank among the tournament's best teams for 3-point defense at 30.7 percent for their opponents.

SWEET CAROLINE: Nevada sophomore Jordan Caroline is averaging 18.3 points and 10.8 rebounds in his last four games. He won the MVP award for the Mountain West Tournament.

DID YOU KNOW: Iowa State senior Monte Morris is tops nationally with a 5.71 assist-to-turnover ratio. He also leads all NCAA Tournament players with a school-record 751 assists and 222 steals for his career.
