Anderson, Saunders lead Wagner over Sacred Heart 76-59

FAIRFIELD, Conn. (AP) Dwaun Anderson and Romone Saunders each poured in 22 points, helping Wagner to a 76-59 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday.

Saunders made 5 of 8 3-pointers for Wagner (10-5, 3-1 Northeast Conference), which won its seventh straight at home and third straight overall. Anderson was 10 of 16 from the field.

Sacred Heart (2-13, 1-3) trailed by seven at halftime and cut the deficit to four with a layup from Matej Buovac with 15:32 remaining. But the Pioneers offense went cold, and Wagner used a 14-0 run over the next seven minutes to put the game away.

Buovac had 10 points and five rebounds for Sacred Heart, and Cane Broome had 11 points and four steals.

Wagner outrebounded Sacred Heart 38-28 and led in points off turnovers 24-9.

The Seahawks hit 29 of 59 field goals, including 8 of 16 from 3-point range.
