At UCLA, fans get Russell Westbrook glasses, plus an upset of Arizona
Maybe it was the presence of former Bruins star Russell Westbrook and his Oklahoma City Thunder teammates at Pauley Pavilion that inspired UCLA to a thrilling, 87-84 victory over No. 7 Arizona on Thursday.
Or maybe it was the glasses.
As part of Russell Westbrook Night at Pauley, UCLA gave away black, thick-framed eyeglasses of the sort that Westbrook has been known to wear as a fashion accessory.

Lots of people apparently dug them, including Kevin Durant and another former UCLA great, Bill Walton.

(Better to go with the glasses than Westbrook's poncho look from this week.)
And why not honor him? Westbrook last month made the largest donation ever to UCLA by a former Bruins basketball player, and the school will name its new practice court after him.
To top it off, UCLA knocked off Arizona on Bryce Alford's 3-pointer with 1.8 seconds left. The Bruins bounced back in a big way after opening Pac-12 play with losses at Washington and Washington State.
