Azzinaro hits 7 3s, leads Bucknell over Holy Cross 98-71

LEWISBURG, Pa. (AP) John Azzinaro scored a career-high 21 points on 7-of-10 3-pointers, Nana Foulland and Chris Hass each added 12 points, and Bucknell made its most 3-pointers since 2011 to stay perfect in the Patriot League with a 98-71 win over Holy Cross on Saturday.

Azzinaro came off the bench and only shot from beyond the arc for Bucknell (7-8, 4-0), which shot 59.3 percent in the first half en route to a 52-30 lead at the break.

Bucknell started on a 9-1 run before Matt Husek's 3-pointer gave Holy Cross (7-8, 2-2) its first field goal. Kimbal Mackenzie answered with a jumper for Bucknell, and Azzinaro made three 3-pointers in a row to give the Bison a 20-4 lead.

Anthony Thompson led Holy Cross with 16 points, and Karl Charles added 12.

The Bison made 16 of 25 3-pointers, including 12 of 17 in the first half.

Bucknell has a 20.5-point margin of victory in conference.
