Baylor's Gathers catches full-court pass, makes first 3-pointer, runs over fan

The Baylor Bears calls this their home run play.

With 1.9 seconds remaining in the first half, junior guard Ish Wainwright threw a full-court pass . Rico Gathers corralled the pass and launched a 3-pointer from the corner, beating the buzzer for his first career three. That put No. 19 Baylor up on No. 2 Kansas 36-33 heading into halftime.

Gathers, the all-conference forward who has averaged over a double-double the past two seasons, had never attempted a three in his four-year career.

As the players made their way off the court, the 6-foot-8, 275-pound Gathers may have been too excited as he bowled over a fan as he headed for the locker room.

With the NFL Combine taking place this week, scouts may check out this clip as they continue to evaluate Gathers a pro prospect.
