Binghamton ends 14-game series skid, tops SUNY rival Albany (Jan 15, 2018)
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. (AP) Willie Rodriguez scored 20 points, J.C. Show had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists and Binghamton beat longtime SUNY rival Albany 79-66 on Monday night.
The Bearcats, playing their third game in six days, snapped a 14-game losing streak in the series, 10 coming by double digits.
Timmy Rose scored nine of his 13 points in the first half and Fard Muhammad added 10 for Binghamton (10-9, 1-3 America East), which stopped a three-game losing streak. Rodriguez and Show each made six free throws as Binghamton was 25 of 32.
After leading 29-28 at halftime, Binghamton extended it to 59-41 on a 24-8 spurt - with 11 points from Rodriguez.
Travis Charles scored 17 points for Albany (14-6, 2-3). Greig Stire had 14 points and nine boards, and Joe Cremo added 13 points. David Nichols, averaging 15.2 points, was held to eight points on 3-of-12 shooting.
The first game in the series took place in the 1948-49 season.
