Bowling Green holds off Youngstown State 79-72

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) Wesley Alcegaire scored a career-high 21 points with five 3-pointers, leading five players into double-digit scoring as Bowling Green held off Youngstown State 79-72 on Sunday at the Florida Gulf Coast Classic.

Zach Denny added 17 points, Rasheed Worrell 15, Ismail Ali 11 and Spencer Parker 10 for the Falcons (2-2). Denny had his third career double-double with 11 rebounds and Worrell was 7-for-7 from the floor.

Ali converted a 3-point play and added 3 of 4 free throws in the final 53 seconds as Bowling Green, which led most of the game, extended a six-point lead to nine, 79-70.

Bobby Hain had 19 points and 11 rebounds for Youngstown State (0-4), which made 14 of 33 3-pointers. Francisco Santiago scored 13 points, and Matt Donlan made four 3-pointers and finished with 12 points.

Bowling Green outrebounded the Penguins 47-38.
