Brown leads High Point past rival UNC Greensboro, 90-72

HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) John Brown had 24 points and 11 rebounds, and High Point won its ninth straight home game with a 90-72 win over Triad rival UNC Greensboro Wednesday night.

The Panthers are 24-2 in their last 26 home games and own the second longest home court streak in the Big South behind Winthrop, which has won 10 straight home games.

High Point (7-2) built an eight-point advantage at intermission and pulled away in the second half, fueled by a 15-5 run that put the Panthers up 75-53 with 6:52 left.

Lorenzo Cugini and Adam Weary scored 15 and 14 points, respectively, for the Panthers, who shot 57 percent from the floor (32 of 56) and 60 percent (6 of 10) from long range.

Diante Baldwin scored 16 points and RJ White and Marvin Smith each contributed 12 for the Spartans (3-5), who were 29 of 65 from the field (44.6 percent).
