Buffalo dismisses leading scorer Moss

Published Aug. 24, 2015 9:14 p.m. ET

Buffalo star forward Justin Moss has been dismissed from the school.

In a carefully worded announcement issued Monday, the school said Moss is not currently enrolled in classes or participating in university activities. The school declined to comment further by citing federal privacy laws protecting student records.

Moss and two teammates were caught back in early June stealing $650 from the dorm room of two football players. The basketball players returned the money, but the case was turned over to the school's judicial board.

Moss had been suspended and recently lost his appeal. Moss and his teammates had been hired by the school to change out smoke detectors and do other work in the dorms, according to a report from The Buffalo News, and that's when they committed the theft.
