LOS ANGELES (AP) Donovan Fields scored a career-high 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting, Jakub Niziol and Victor Joseph added 15 points, and piece and Cal Poly never trailed in its 85-71 win over Cal State Northridge on Wednesday night.

Niziol, whose previous career best was 11 points, scored 13 in the first half and finished with a career-best eight rebounds. Kyle Toth and Ridge Shipley each added 11 points for the Mustangs (8-17, 3-8 Big West).

Each of Cal Poly's conference wins have come against the top-three teams in the Big West standings - topping second-place UC Irvine 79-66 on Jan. 26 and first place UC Davis 74-70 on Feb. 2.

Niziol hit back-to-back 3s before Toth added a third to spark a 13-0 that made it 21-7 with 11:34 left in the half and, after Toth made another 3-pointer about four minutes later, the Mustangs led by double figures the rest of the way. They took a 45-22 advantage into the break and Hank Hollingsworth's dunk with 10:28 to play made it 67-37.
