Canisius 63, Manhattan 61

Julius Coles hit a 3-pointer with 6 seconds remaining in overtime and Canisius beat Manhattan 63-61 on Saturday.
Manhattan led 56-52 in regulation but did not score the rest of the way, going 0-for-5 from the field. Tomas Vazquez-Simmons tied the game with two free throws for the Golden Griffins (9-9, 4-3 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference) with 27 seconds left.
Canisius led by as many as 22 points in the first half and held a 39-23 halftime lead. The Jaspers (7-10, 2-5) opened the second half on a 22-4 run to take a 45-44 lead with 9:47 to play. Neither team led by more than four points the rest of the way.
Coles led Canisius with 15 points, and Vazquez-Simmons had 13 points and 10 rebounds. Robert Goldsberry and Frazier each scored 12 points.
Darryl Crawford and Pickett each scored 16 points to lead the Jaspers, who lost for the fifth time in the past six games.
