Charleston Southern runs away from Gardner-Webb 83-68 (Jan 21, 2018)

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) Christian Keeling scored 26 points and Phlandrous Fleming Jr. scored 20 to help Charleston Southern beat Gardner-Webb 83-68 on Sunday to end its six-game losing streak.

Javis Howard and Ty Jones each scored 12 points and Jones grabbed seven rebounds for the Buccaneers (7-12, 2-6 Big South).

The teams traded 3-pointers at the end of the first half with Fleming making one and Liam O'Reilly scoring one for Gardner-Webb (10-11, 5-3) which went to intermission down 31-30.

Charleston Southern started the second half with a 7-0 run and later pushed the lead to 52-40 when Keeling hit a 3 then followed with a jumper with 13:44 left. The Bulldogs responded with a quick 7-0 spurt, but went more than four minutes without scoring as the Buccaneers went on a 12-0 run and Gardner-Webb never recovered.

O'Reilly tied his career high with 27 points, including 7-of-12 3-pointers. David Efianayi had 17 points, six rebounds and six assists, and DJ Laster scored 14 points, for the Bulldogs.
