Chris Monasch resigns as St. John's Red Storm athletic director

After 10 years as the St. John's athletic director, Chris Monasch has resigned from that position. The resignation is effective June 30.
Monasch says he is leaving his alma matter to "pursue new leadership opportunities."
The move comes at an odd time for the Johnnies' basketball program, as new head coach Chris Mullin was hired just two months ago. Monasch also hired and fired Steve Lavin, so his finger prints are very much on this Red Storm program.
