Chris Mullin retooling the Red Storm right away
Villanova has run train on the 'new' Big East in the last few years. There's no denying that. But six teams in the conference made the NCAA Tournament last season, and plenty are on the verge of competing with the Wildcats for the Big East throne.
Who are some likely candidates to surpass the 'Cats?
Perhaps it won't be this year, but by the looks of things, Chris Mullin seems to have St. John's on track to do so within the next few seasons.
In just two months on the job, Mullin has brought in an astonishing seven players, six of whom are immediately eligible. It remains to be seen if those players prove effective, but if nothing else, it proves Mullin and his newly minted staff are savvy recruiters early on in their respective tenures.
