Cincinnati stifles Arkansas-Pine Bluff 99-50, sets FT mark

CINCINNATI (AP) Farad Cobb continued his hot start from 3-point range, scoring 20 points, and Cincinnati's defense was stifling in a 99-50 win over Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Sunday to start the Barclays Center Classic.

Cobb hit 4-of-6 3-pointers, making him 16 of 26 for the season. Four other players scored in double figures for the Bearcats (4-0), who led 39-15 at halftime.

Cincinnati held the Golden Lions (1-3) to 24 percent shooting in the first half and 31 percent for the game. The Bearcats scored 44 points off 30 turnovers and had 19 steals, giving them 57 already this season. They also went 41 of 59 from the foul line, a team record for attempts and one shy of the record for makes.

Thaddeus Handley had 11 points and 11 rebounds for the Golden Lions.

Cincinnati continues the Barclays Center Classic at home on Tuesday before playing Nebraska on Friday in Brooklyn, New York.
